Louis Vuitton Speedy Bags remind me of Italian fashion - timeless, elegant, and effortless.

My family has been going to Forte Dei Marmi for years to buy stone from the nearby Carrara stone quarries.  This time we arrived to go to the quarries and visit with friends who are suppliers of the famous white marble so known from the region.

When my father comes to visit he stays at the Ritz Hotelin Forte Dei Marmi for over 15 years.  Rob and I arrived for our first visit in the summer and were enchanted!  The beautiful abergo with orange exterior was overlooking a charming pool and deck, with the view of the ocean just beyond the hedge.   The staff  that we got to know included Luca Biagi, owner, who is of British decent and absolutely charming, Fabrizzo at the front desk was amazingly hospitable, and Lorenzo in the bar has such a love of America and Americans that you feel as though you were the most welcomed guest to ever arrive.

The beaches were lined with cabanas, umbrellas and beach clubs.  The water was blue and surprisingly COLD, but Bella still loved the beach and the ocean.  It was hard to tear Rob away from sightseeing and taking in the beautiful views…

But my favorite past time was one to be embraced in Forte Dei Marme, Shopping. But this time I was on a shopping quest for Italian Fashion!!!

Ladies who love fashion have different styles they like and embrace, but for my personal style on a casual day, I found the fashion in Forte Dei Marmi to be my favorite of any of our travels.   The Italian women were so laid back in their approach of putting it all together.  While eating lunch at a beachside restaurant, I was inspired by a mom in hear early 40’s who looked effortlessly hip with a short eyelet skirt, a white colored shirt, a big leather belt and leather weathered brown flat boots.  Throughout town I saw that same chic Italian Bohemian style that was beach-y cool.  In fact I found a wonderful store on the way to church that had that exact style.  I bought a belt that I wore at least 3 times a week, a polka dot scarf, and a wonderful casual dress.

Of course there was also the very dressed up ladies with their luxury designer best!  After church on Sunday I spotted a very fashionable lady with her children, wearing a Chanel belt and handbag. We can all take a cue from the Italians in how to make our lives and our wardrobes casual and exciting. Times Past has some amazing belts and handbags; make your appointment today to see our Italian inspired collections.
