There is a big buzz about Paris vintage shopping! I found the stores to be inspiring, the designs to be memorable and the merchandise of incredible quality, however the prices were not in line for what Americans expect to pay.

The first Depot Vente we found in Paris was several years ago.  WK accessories & mode, 5 rue du Marche St. Honore is on a very hip street off Fauburg St. Honore, the premier shopping street in Paris. We returned and visited the store in April of 2010 and paid several visits this summer.   Roberto Cavali, ChanelLanvin and Dior were all sold there.
Nearby out apartment on Wagram is one of the largest Depot Vente’s in Paris, Depot Vente Du 17 emeThey have a sizeable inventory of clothing and accessories including Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada and more. The magnitude of vintage items was significant for a Paris store, given that most retail spaces throughout Europe are relatively small. For that matter hotel rooms, restaurants and most spaces are small because of the premium on land. I found a few Chanel jackets and a new Goyard bag that made my wish list.
Jardins Du Palais Royal is the home of the most beautiful Depot Vente in Paris, Gabrielle Geppert. She utilized space in a way that was beautifully done and had unique vintage Chanel earrings and bracelets. Her vintage ostrich bags in unusual colors were beautifully preserved and presented. I was particularly fond of a pale green ostrich vintage handbag that was 1200 euros or $1660.
On Boulevard Diderot, YSL necklace are going for 4500 euros, haute couture Chanel clutch in chocolate suede with red shearling interior (from 10 years prior) for 2200 euros. We have the same bag currently in stock for less than $1,000.00 at Times Past! According to Elle Magazine, shearling is “A Sheer Thing” this Fall! They showcased a shearling Kelly, stating “A bounty of furs, such as shearling, mink, fox and even faux casts a long shadow on the waning days of summer.” Be sure to pick up the stunning shearling bag featured above at Times Past before someone else grabs this upcoming trend!
